MRSA – EXPLANATION AND PREVENTION FOR HIGHLY-RESISTANT GERMS
Many serious infection-related illnesses are accompanied by bacteria that are resistant to most
antibiotics. These bacteria include MRSA = Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Directly
before and after an operation, contact with these bacteria can be particularly dangerous : they can
severely weaken the body and impair the healing of fresh wounds. The spread of these germs in a
hospital must therefore be avoided at all costs!
EuromedClinic is the only clinic in the metropolitan region that therefore tests all patients
before they undergo an operation! If an MSRA germ infection is detected, we postpone the operation
- if the patient’s state of health allows - until the germ is effectively treated! This measure is
for your personal safety in order to avoid an acute infection after the operation. Conversely, it
protects all other patients, since these bacteria can rapidly spread in an area, e.g. in a unit.
We therefore ask for your active cooperation in protecting your health!
