WEB ACCESSIBILITY
In November, 2007, EuromedClinic has revised its internet presence, and
presents itself in a completely new, clear design. In addition to the comprehensive extension of
the medical content, particular importance was attached to a “barrier-free” design. The offered
extensive information has thus not only become clearer and faster, but also accessible for impaired
people. This adaptation is accompanied by the introduction of a new corporate design and a new
EuromedClinic logo.
During the development of the new extensive medical content, special attention was paid to maintain a comprehensible design. In doing so, the “health scout” makes the contents accessible in a clear and intuitive way.
Barrier-free design means: files, images and graphics for download, change of language, abbreviations and acronyms are marked. Fonts may be selected freely; colours and contrasts are no longer barriers. Texts are clearly structured; navigation and commands can be rendered via the key board. Animated elements are restricted to few areas and serve as supplementary design only. All graphic elements are displayed with explanatory texts, referred to as “alternate” texts.
In doing so, the EuromedClinic, as one of the first private medical clinics in Bavaria, implements a recommendation by the council of ministers of the Free State of Bavaria (Bavarian Barrier-Free Information Technology Regulation – BayBITV), which has been in force for web sites of Bavarian authorities since 1st January, 2007.
